BEFORE WE FALL IN LOVE AGAIN won the Best Asean Feature

Malaysian director James Lee's digital movie BEFORE WE FALL IN LOVE AGAIN just won the Best Asean Feature award at the Bangkok International Film Festival, which ran July 19-29.

It beat nine other acclaimed films from the region, including Indonesia's BERBAGI SUAMI (LOVE FOR SHARE) and Thailand's ALONE and THE UNSEEABLE, for the honour. The jury comprised American critic Chuck Stephens, Hong Kong filmmaker Yon Fan, and Indian festival programmer Bina Paul.

This is the second award for Lee in this festival. Two years ago, he won the same award for THE BEAUTIFUL WASHING MACHINE.

BEFORE WE FALL IN LOVE AGAIN is a black and white movie about a love triangle. It was screened commercially in GSC Digital Cinemas earlier this year. It stars music icon Pete Teo as well as Amy Len and Chye Chee Keong, and was produced by Da Huang Pictures and Paperheart in association with October Pictures.

It is the first part of Lee's "Love" trilogy, and was made with the financial assistance of The Hubert Bals Fund (The Netherlands) and The Global Film Fund (USA). Aside from Bangkok, it has been selected for many other international film festivals such as Pusan, Rotterdam, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Seattle.
