Awards Achievement in 2015


Doghouse 73 Pictures produced short films have been going into film festivals and this year we've picked up a couple of awards with the first being James Lee's Last Day of School in November. And here are our latest achievements.


The short written & directed by Gavin Yap won the main award in Light of Asia category at the recent Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival 1-6 December, beating 14 other short films from Iran, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan and Thailand. The short film stars veteran theatre actor Thor Kah Hong, actress Louisa Chong and comedian Phoon Chi Ho. Full List of Winners

Part of our popular horror short film series The Strange Mechanic directed by Black Cat, won the Best Editing Award in the China Hang Zhou Microfilm Festival 2015. A story about a car mechanic with the gift to see the dead and uses his skills to help repair possessed vehicles. Lense by award winning DP Tan Teck Zee who also shot LAST DAY OF SCHOOL. Delete by Sidney Chan of Grimm Film also part of the 3 Doors of Horrors anthology in 2014 was selected for the Viddsee Shortee Showcase in the Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2015.
